November Supper Club at the Whitney!
When it was completed in 1894, the mansion of David Whitney Jr. was described as “the most elaborate and substantial residence in this part of the country.” Even today, you would be hard pressed to find a structure more meticulously detailed or an atmosphere more lavish than that of the Whitney. Now in its 18th year of operation, the Whitney has become synonymous with fine dining in Detroit. Conveniently located on Woodward in the heart of Detroit’s culture center, it is minutes away from the Fox Theater, DIA, Fisher Theater, Opera House, Science Center and many other Detroit attractions.
November’s Supper Club event will be held on Tuesday November 16th at 6:30PM. The Whitney will open their bar for us at 6PM so that we may gather prior to dinner to enjoy their atmosphere. The bar is located on the third floor of the Whitney. The chefs at the Whitney have created a special menu for us at the set price of $30, which includes your meal, tax and gratuity. All beverages should be purchased at the cash bar prior to dinner; additional drinks will be billed upon consumption.
Course 1: Whitney’s signature calamari tossed with angel hair pasta, lemon grass, garlic, and diced tomato beurre blanc.
Course 2: Sautéed escallop of citrus glazed chicken breast with miniature carrots, potatoes Anna and natural au jus.
Course 3: Crème brulee with mixed berry compote.
