DSG Shares at Canticle Cafe this Saturday!!
DSG Shares provides an opportunity for volunteers to engage in a service learning event once per month designed to address a specific social issue plaguing our community - hunger and homelessness. Each service learning event engages volunteers in community impact with a Detroit-area organization while educating them on the realities of hunger and homelessness in our community.
When: Join DSG Shares at Canticle Cafe this Saturday, September 6 from 8:00
a.m. - noon. Who: The Canticle Cafe is a Franciscan ministry of radical hospitality extending community beyond the margins of traditional outreach and charity. For more information about their outreach, visit the Canticle Cafe on the web at: http://canticlecafe.org.
What: Volunteers will be making up hygiene kits, serving food and coffee, bussing tables and assisting with cafe clean-up after breakfast is served. The Canticle Cafe is located at 1209 Washington Blvd. in Downtown Detroit. Volunteers can park at the lot on the corner of Washington Blvd. and State St. or along the street on Washington Blvd.
*If you are interested in bringing anything to support the Canticle Cafe, please consider a donation of toothbrushes, shavers, trial size deodorants, soaps and shampoos for use in the hygiene kits we will be making.
