Go the Distance! All-Star Bike Ride
Detroit Bikes! a Detroit Synergy project welcomes bike riders of all levels to get connected to the energy of Detroit during All Star Weekend. In an informational tour to showcase the “motor city” via bike, Detroit Bikes! Go the Distance! will visit key districts and destinations in around Detroit’s greater downtown.
Some places of interest include: Eastern Market, the Michigan Theater, Brush Park, Ferry Street, Midtown, the Cultural Center, Piquette Avenue, New Center, and Corktown.
The free 12-15 mile ride starts at 10:00 am sharp this Saturday, July 9th and will begin at the Millennium Bell in Grand Circus Park. Depending on skill level and speed, the tour can last up to four hours, with stops. Check out www.detroitsynergy.org for more information or contact Alex at detroit_geared@yahoo.com or 313.516.0061.
While our ride is free, donations are accepted to support Detroit Synergy and Back Alley Bikes, two non-profit groups that are working to promote cycling in the city.
Helmets are required, and all riders must sign our liability policy prior to riding. A limited number of helmets and bikes will be available for rent at a minimal donation.
