- Detroit Bikes! has partnered with local artist collaborative, The Center for Creative eXchange, to host a special event during Art Detroit Now weekend (http://artdetroitnow.com/weekend.html). The event called Bike Detroit Now, is an artists gallery loop featuring stops in local neighborhoods like Eastern Market, New Center East, Woodbridge, Midtown, and the Cultural Center. At each neighborhood gallery stop, a brief synopsis will be given of the exhibitions and galleries, with a brief amount of time for participants to enjoy the art. Final stop options include Motor City Brewery or the Detroit Institute of Arts. Tour to conclude approximately at 4pm. The ride is free. Helmets Required. Local bike organizations, The Hub and Back Alley Bikes will be offering bike rentals for the event as well. Bike rentals start at $5 for the day + deposit, interested participants can pick up a rental bike at The Hub, 3611 Cass Avenue between 11am and 11:40am on May 10th, just before the event. (Preregistration for rentals required by May 3rd.)
