Thursday, April 14, 2005, 6:30-8:30pm: Meet up at Detroit Synergy's General Meeting.

@ the Northwest Activities Center, 18100 Meyers, Detroit, Room 384

Guest Speakers:

Ron Lockett of Northwest Activities Center & Kimberly Hill from the Eastern Market Advancement Coalition (EMAC).

Food and beverages will be provided for a small donation.

Park. Have a barbeque. Treck over to Comerica Park to view a Tigers' win and stick around the pub crawl! This takeover promises to provide a whole day of family friendly entertainment. Experience Detroit sports and traditions. Participate in the excitement surrounding Detroit's new developments. Create new traditions.

Saturday, April 23, 2005, 10am: D-Tour, the Tour

The World is Coming to Detroit, and we want to make sure our frontline is ready! That is why the Tourism Economic Development Council offers highly interactive, four-hour training sessions for individuals interested in seeing the change. D-Tours consist of bus and walking tours, sponsored by the Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau, which take visitors through Detroit to witness first hand the positive changes.

Two Weeks

Tuesday, April 26, 2005, 6:30pm: Supper Club at the all new Vicente's Cuban Cuisine located at 1250 Library Street

Arrive early to taste their incredible Cuban Mojito, Cuba Libre or Presidente and enjoy a complimentary dance lesson.  End your night with a shot of Cuban coffee or a hot rum toddy. Vicente's has create a five-course menu for the set price of $30 which includes tax and gratuity as well as your choice of red or white Sangria.  All additional beverages will be billed upon consumption.

  • Taste of Cuba  Papas Rellenos (stuffed potato balls), Empanadas, Chicken and Ham Croquetas, Cuban Tamal, Tostones.
  • Aquacate a la Vinagreta  Cuban Salad. Avacado with Tomato and White Onion with Vinaigretted served with Cuban bread.
  • Sopa de Frijoles Negro  Cuban Soup. Black Bean Soup with Sour Cream.
  • Ropa Vieja con Arroz  Shredded Beef in Tomato Sauce, Rice & Black Beans, Fried Sweet Plantains.
  • Flan de Coco y Ron  Coconut Rum Flan.
  • Drink  Red or White Sangria

The Cuban Culture is a sociable one, and many Cuban-Americans enjoy lingering over drinks and appetizers before dinning. At Vicente's Cuban Cuisine we will share the Cuban experience with our guest and leave you asking for more. Our Cuban dinner club is set in a 1930's art deco decor. It includes a 1930's bar with a Kiosk at the front of the house, a parkuet dance floor and a art deco stage. The stage is set to handle a Cuban band with trumpets and bongos or a DJ spinning Cuban Music that will keep you dancing all the way out the door.

At Vicente's Cuban Cuisine you will taste the Cuban recipes that have been handed down from generations to todays Cuban-Americans.  Restaurateur Vicente Vazquez III, his mother Maria Vazquez, offer a Cuban dinner club venue with excellent service, Cuban love and Cuban energy.

Tickets are non-refundable but my be transfered to another person.
