November General Meeting at the Parade Company

The Parade Company organizes America's Thanksgiving Parade, which is one of the country's oldest and most celebrated parades. Come to the November General Meeting, and you will get a chance to discover the City's most hidden treasure! And consider sticking around for a bit after the meeting for our Volunteer Event and a chance to see what happens behind the scenes! It is suggested you get directions from their website www.theparade.org. Once you arrive, please enter through the main entrance with the red awning.

Volunteer Event at the Parade Company

Immediately following Thursday's meeting will be a volunteer event for the Parade Company. We will be helping with the construction and painting of the floats and/or props. Volunteers can change into 'work wear' if they want after the General Meeting, depending on how involved, or messy, you want to get! Also, please note that you do not have to attend the General Meeting if you just want to do the Volunteer Event.

November Third Thursday & Project Lead Clinic: Sala Thai A.K. in Lafayette Park

Third Thursday is a Community Happy Hour and a great way to relax, network, talk about projects and learn more about Detroit Synergy. You can join us for our monthly Project Lead Clinic at 6pm with the happy hour starting at 6:30.

This month, meet us at Sala Thai A.K. on Lafayette for drinks and savory dishes. Our charity partner is the Capuchin Soup Kitchen. Please consider bringing a few healthy non-perishable food items or a few dollars to share.

Bus to Work Campaign: A Transit Project

We're working this November to help strengthen mass transit in metro Detroit. Is there a bus stop near where you work? Sign-up to post an educational flier at your workplace that describes the local routes and the personal cost savings.  Its easy - to get started, just go to www.detroitsynergy.org/projects/transit and we'll produce a customized flier for you to post.

Late Night at the DIA with DSG

Join DSG at the DIA’s “Art After Hours” re-opening celebration. Be the first to see the DIA when it opens its doors to the public on Friday the 23rd for 32 hours. Free admission, DJ, cash bar, access to newly redesigned museum.

Shop Detroit: 4th Annual Holiday Event

Save the date: Saturday, December 1st, 2007 | 10am-5pm

Believe it or not, the Shop Detroit 4th Annual Holiday Event is fast approaching! Want to help out? Volunteers are still needed for a variety of tasks:

- Help hand out flyers at the Campus Martius Tree Lighting on Nov. 16
- Distribute stacks of postcards to workplaces, coffee houses, student unions, etc.
- Help deliver posters to merchants
- Stuff shopping bags before the event
- Work the registration table on the day of the event....
