And they're off!! On April 26th, close to 300 runners and walkers attended our 3rd Annual Spring Into Nature Fun Run to benefit the Belle Isle Nature Zoo.
Pub Crawl 9: The Corktown Crawl
Join us as we crawl through Detroit's Corktown neighborhood, with stops at the Lager House, Nemo's, Hoot's on the Avenue and Casey's Irish Pub. There will drink specials at every stop and, of course, our world famous pub crawl t-shirts.
Tickets are only $15 in advance and can be purchased at http://www.dsgstore.com or $20 at the door. Only those individuals who are at least 21 years of age with a valid ID will be allowed to join the pub crawl.
Please note that due to the size of the pubs we will be visiting, attendance is limited to no more than 150 people, so advance registration is strongly recommended. Online registration ends Thursday evening.

Detroit Bikes! 2nd Annual Cinco de Mayo Mexicantown Bike Tour
In its fourth season of cycling in the City of Detroit, Detroit Bikes! continues its much anticipated schedule of neighborhood tours by bike.
Celebrate Mexico's victory over the French in the Battle of Puebla in 1862 in Southwest Detroit with our Cinco de Mayo Ride on May 3rd! The tour weaves past the neighborhoods and busy markets of Southwest Detroit, Holy Redeemer, Fort Wayne, Riverside Park and the Mexicantown shops on Bagley Street.
As always, bike, bike helmet, and lights and/or reflectors required! Bike lock suggested!

Duration: Approximately 10.5 leisurely miles, over 3 hours, at beginner/moderate level cycle speeds

Detroit Bikes! To Work Day Volunteer Meeting
Come join the Bike To Work Day project team. Any and all are invited to drop in, volunteers may join the ride or if collecting waivers, biking is optional. Volunteer Roles: Liability and Legal Waiver Sage (collect waiver signatures) or Bike Mechanic Guru (help with bike flats/fixes enroute) or Tour Guide/Sweeper Squad (help keep the group together and safe). The Detroit Bikes! project group is leading this third annual event on two days with tour routes (Woodward May 16th and Michigan Ave May 23rd), you may volunteer for either day.

Detroit Bikes! partnership | Bike Detroit Now Artisits Loop
Detroit Bikes! has partnered with local artist collaborative, The Center for Creative eXchange, to host a special event, called Bike Detroit Now, during Art Detroit Now weekend. It is an artists gallery loop featuring stops in local neighborhoods like Eastern Market, New Center East, Woodbridge, Midtown, and the Cultural Center. At each neighborhood gallery stop, a synopsis will be given of the exhibitions and galleries, and participants will be given some time to enjoy the art.

Detroit Bikes! to Work Days
Two roundtrip rides into downtown Detroit, Campus Martius Park. Join the Ride close to your home! For each route, there are MULTIPLE stations to join the ride between the listed starting point and downtown. Additional stations will be posted soon.
First station along each route:
- May 16th – Royal Oak – via Woodward
- May 23rd – Dearborn – via Michigan
Rides arrive at Campus Martius Park by 8am. Evening return at 5:30pm.

MRDI's Walk2Gether Michigan on Belle Isle
Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion's (MRDI) Walk2gether is a fundraiser for Leadership in the New Century (LINC), a comprehensive youth diversity education program.
Participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $25.00, and should meet at the Detroit Synergy Team table in the Band shell area starting at 9:00am. Walkers will have the option to choose between a one and three mile route. Post walk activities include entertainment, activities, and a raffle.

Project Clean and the Motor City Makeover
Project Clean gathers volunteers to join forces with various groups, organizations and events all over the city to work towards a cleaner and more viable Detroit.
We will be kicking off our 4th year with the Motor City Makeover and the Corktown Development Corp. Volunteers will be cleaning, weeding, landscaping and planting, painting, etc. If you have any questions or want to volunteer, please contact Mike!

Synergy Shares at Cass Community Social Services
CCSS is dedicated to making a profound difference in the diverse populations it serves by providing for basic needs, including affordable housing, promoting self reliance and encouraging community inclusion and improvement. Volunteers may be providing a number of different services for the homeless in the community including sandwich preparation, creating mud mats and outdoor clean-up.

On-going! Discussing Differences
Discussing Differences is a collaboration between Detroit Synergy and The Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion (MRDI) to help Metro Detroiters break down racial and social barriers by using MRDI’s 'Trading Places' dialogue series. We gather 20 volunteers to meet for 3, 3-hour sessions, to discuss these, and other, topics. We will be holding sessions again very soon, so if you are interested, please let us know!
