This Saturday! Synergy Shares at the Salvation Army

Join DSG Shares at the Salvation Army. The Salvation Army provides a number of services to the community; more than 30 million people a year are aided in some form by these services. Volunteers will meet downtown at at the Southeast Michigan Rehabilitation Center and will participate in activities including kitchen clean-up, field clean-up and meal preparation. 

Date: Saturday, July 26th

Time: 9:30am to 12:30pm

Project Clean and the East Warren Avenue Clean Up 

Project Clean will be partnering once again with U-SNAP-BAC and the East Warren Avenue Business Association to help clean and beautify Warren Ave. between Alter Road and Mack Ave. We will be doing a variety of tasks including picking up trash, pulling weeds, and painting.

Date: Saturday, August 2nd

Time: 9:15 am to 1:30pm

DSG General Meeting on August 14th

General meetings provide the opportunity to find out about new projects, discover a new Detroit organization, and how to get involved with Detroit Synergy.

August Third Thursday: Community Connect @ Atwater Brewery

The August Third Thursday will be a pre-cursor to a new project, Pecha Kucha Night! 

Our community partner for August is Arts & Scraps, a Detroit-based non-profit who provides children with affordable learning and creative experiences using recycled industrial scraps. Please see visit http://www.detroitsynergy.org/projects/thirdthursday/  for donation suggestions.

August Supper Club @ Cuisine

This upscale dining establishment is the realization of Owner Chef Paul’s life-long dream to own an award winning restaurant. At Cuisine, you will enjoy world class wines and spirits, contemporary French-American cuisine and classic French desserts.

The cost is $30.00 for the prix fixe menu, which includes tax and gratuity, with optional $10.00 2-glass wine flight. Tickets available on the DSG store + $1.00 service fee or at the door in cash.

Leadership Opportunities 2008 - We want YOU!!

So you've been hanging out with us for a little while now. You've worked on and participated in a project or two...or more. You're realizing you have some mad skills that would be best utilized in a volunteer setting. And before you know it, you are asking yourself, "How else can I contribute to this great organization?!" Well we've got the answer for you...come join the DSG Steering Team!

We are looking for dedicated volunteers, like you, to step up and step into the following open positions: 

  • Fundraising Chair

  • Partnerships Chair

  • Finance Chair 
  • Discovery Project Chair

In the past, the Steering Team has received inquiries about paid positions. Please note that Detroit Synergy is an all-volunteer organization and we do not have any paid positions.  


On-going! Bus to Work Campaign: A Transit Project

We're working this May to help strengthen mass transit in metro Detroit. Is there a bus stop near where you work? Sign-up to post an educational flier at your workplace that describes the local routes and the personal cost savings.  Its easy - to get started, just go to www.detroitsynergy.org/projects/transit and we'll produce a customized flier for you to post.

On-going! Discussing Differences

Discussing Differences is a collaboration between Detroit Synergy and The Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion (MRDI) to help Metro Detroiters break down racial and social barriers by using MRDI’s 'Trading Places' dialogue series. We gather 20 volunteers to meet for 3, 3-hour sessions, to discuss these, and other, topics. We will be holding sessions again very soon, so if you are interested, please let us know!

Community Callout: MeMe's Cute Lil Cocktail Party at the DYC*

Event Planner extraordinaire, Melinda Anderson, will be hosting her second Cute Lil Cocktail Party at the Detroit Yacht Club on Thursday, July 24th, from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. The event is free but donations to the United Way are strongly encouraged. There will be hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Passport from Urban Organic and Hot Club of Detroit Trio. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to memedesignandevents@yahoo.com.

Community Callout: MI City Home Toolkit Event*

Are you or someone you know looking to purchase and renovate a home in one of Detroit's fine historic neighborhoods? If so, please attend the next MI City Home Toolkit Event, which will start at a fully renovated Albert Kahn home located in Grandmont Rosedale on Sunday, July 27th at 3:00pm. Mortgage agents, contractors, listing agents and re-habbers will all be on hand to discuss the processes involved with purchasing and appropriately renovating a home in the city.
