Achieving the "Tipping Point"* :: Community Brainstorm/Action Session
Join Detroit Synergy for a discussion and brainstorm session about how Detroiters and residents of Southeast Michigan can enable Detroit to reach its maximum potential. Brainstorm a list of potential activities and initiatives that build upon positive experiences and perceptions. Create projects aimed towards highlighting all that is good in Detroit. Be the change that you want to see.
* The idea of the the "tipping point" is based on author Malcolm Gladwell's book: The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference. Check your local library, bookstore or online book provider for more details.

Motown Remixed Vol. 1. Release Tour.
Detroit Synergy is proud to support the release of Motown Remixed Vol. 1. "The Sound Of Young America” is young once again. Motown Remixed (Motown/UMe), set for release on May 24, 2005, re-grooves 15 of the greatest songs of Motown for a new generation. Join Fusicology, Motown and a sampling of Detroit's Best DJ's -- DJ Smash, Mike "Agent X" Clark, Alvin "Munk" Hill -- for this release party. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Project Clean!
Detroit Synergy's "Project Clean" is teaming up with Motor City Blight Busters to clean the streets of Detroit. Volunteers will meet across the street from Motor City Blight Busters' headquarters (17405 Lasher, Detroit 313-255-4355) at 8:30 AM for instructions and to experience "Artists' Village". Cleaning will take place from 9 AM - 2 PM within a 4-block radius of Blight Busters' headquarters. Please bring your own outdoor cleaning supplies, such as gloves, brooms, rakes, shovels, clippers, etc. You may also want to bring water and lunch/snacks, or food can be purchased from vendors at "Artists' Village" or at nearby businesses. Please RSVP to Jen at clean@detroitsynergy.org by May 31st. Late RSVPs are welcome but we need to give Blight Busters a headcount before the event.
