9 Quick and Easy Steps to Project Success
Follow these quick and simple steps to drive your concept/initiative/idea for Detroit to a real and tangible outcome.
proposing your idea >> the first steps
(1). Review the Project Proposal Information and use a Project Worksheet to help you describe the basic idea of your project/initiative.
(2). Submit the completed form to the appropriate project chair. Project Chairs serve as organizational coaches and advocates for you and your project.
- If you think the project is best categorized as a Development Project, submit your completed Project Worksheet to Development Chair development@detroitsynergy.org.
- If you think the project is best categorized as a Dialogue Project, submit your completed Project Worksheet to Dialogue Chair dialogue@detroitsynergy.org.
- If you think the project is best categorized as a Discovery Project, submit your completed Project Worksheet to our Discovery Chair discovery@detroitsynergy.org.
(3). The project chair will then submit your Project Worksheet to Detroit Synergy’s Steering Team for initial approval.
getting connected to resources >> the heart of your project
(4). Upon initial approval, you and your team will receive (i) a project packet resource guide; (ii) a page on the DSG website; (iii) editor access to that online webpage; (iv) a DSG e-mail address; (v) limited access to the DSG events calendar and e-mail list; (vi) access to member volunteers; and (vii) guidance for public relations, fundraising, membership and graphics design.
(5). You will then work with the appropriate project chair to create a project team, coordinate planning meetings and get connected to community resources. The Steering Team will also share their thoughts on various aspects of your project through the project chair.
(6). You and your project team will finalize your project proposal.
the final steps >> the name says it all
(7). When your team’s project proposal is complete, you will notify the appropriate project chair, which will e-mail Steering Team members for final input regarding the proposal and put the project on a General Meeting agenda for community approval.
(8). Community will either (a) approve the proposal, (b) approve with suggestions or (c) send back for revisions if serious concerns relating to the fundamental success of the project are raised. A Steering Team Member will facilitate this community approval process.
implementing your project >> the home stretch
(9). Once you have final approval for your project, you and your project team will implement your idea with help from the Steering Team.
